Macquarie University, just outside of Sydney, Australia opened in 1964. Aboriginal and Indigenous Studies
Students can learn about the history and challenges faced by Aboriginal and indigenous people in Australia at the Warawara Department of Indigenous Studies at Macquarie University. The department is committed to the study of and research on indigenous issues. In addition, the scholars of Warawara actively promote awareness of indigenous people within the university and the wider community.
Internships
Macquarie University offers internship opportunities for students interested in gaining valuable work experience relevant to their major and/or interests. BCA and Macquarie University will aid you in finding an internship that fits your specific needs.
The internships are unpaid, and can be taken for 3 or 6 credits requiring 10 to 20 hours per week in the work placement. You will need to take two or three other courses in conjunction with the internship in order to meet the course load requirement. Assessment for internships includes visits, interviews, journals and a major assignment.
In order to participate in the internship program, you must have a GPA of at least a 3.0. Please submit a resume and cover letter to BCA as soon as possible if you are interested in taking advantage of this opportunity.
