Maribeth Turner, McPherson College,
Aberystwyth, Wales 2003

We hosted a Thanksgiving Meal and cooked all the dishes with a convection oven--even the turkey! We invited the international students in our dorms and had a great time sharing our American holiday with everyone.

We also attended a Guy Fawkes party/bonfire and enjoyed experiencing the holiday with English students. We lit fireworks and burned the effigy.

When we joined with the Cheltenham BCA students we got to see roman ruins, stonehenge, and cathedrals. We also were able to travel on a small rail line to Devil's Bridge in the Brecon Beacons.

We traveled over Christmas Holidays and visited Bath, York, Canterbury, Dover, Brighton and Bristol. We spent Christmas day in Canterbury and attended the service in the Canterbury Cathedral. We joined up with 3 American students who were studying in Spain but spending the holidays in Great Britain. We cooked a Christmas meal and celebrated together.

I think I remember our travel excursions the best and hope to be able to return someday for more adventures.
