BCA Ambassadors Program
Each semester, we select students to join our Alumni Ambassadors program who want to share stories and information with other students who are just beginning to think about studying abroad.
If you are interested in becoming a BCA Alumni Ambassador, read the information below and then contact Katie Crowl at kcrowl@BCAabroad.org to begin the process.
What do Alumni Ambassadors do?
The short answer. Ambassadors help BCA and their home campus international programs staff to spread the word about BCA programs and general study abroad opportunities, as they relate to their home campus.
The details. Ambassadors can choose from a list of ideas (or come up with their own ideas) of ways to spread the word about study abroad on their home campus. Some of these activities include:
- Organizing a cultural dinner that features foods from countries where BCA has programs.
- Speaking at a study abroad information session.
- Speaking with prospective study abroad students one-on-one or in groups.
- Manning a BCA information table in a common area or student center.
What do Ambassadors get for completing activities for BCA?
The work Alumni Ambassadors do is extremely helpful to BCA. Prospective students really want to hear from their peers about real study abroad experiences - BCA could not do that without Ambassadors' committment to spreading the word. We want to make it worth their while.
Alumni Ambassadors get:
- BCA Alumni Ambassador kit with goodies for you and resources to help you complete activities and tasks for BCA.
- Points for each activity you complete. Redeem the points for items from the incentive list. (Complete many tasks and bank your points toward larger items, or spend them as you earn them.)
- Quarterly e-newsletters with helpful information on topics like: using your study abroad experience in your career-planning; returning to your study abroad location; staying connected with the friends you made while abroad; and being a responsible global citizen now that you have returned to the United States.
- Information about oppotunities to write about your study abroad experience for national publications and tips for getting published. (Great for your resume!)
- A forum for you to share your memories and experiences with people who truly want to hear about them.
