International Seminar General Information

Accommodations and Meals

Accommodations will be reserved in a hotel, guesthouse or university housing based on double occupancy. BCA will also provide breakfast and one other meal per day, offering participants the opportunity to try a varied sample of local specialties.

Documentation Requirements

A passport is required to travel abroad. Please include all passport information requested on the application form. If you do not presently have a valid passport, apply for one as soon as possible as this process will take several weeks. Passport instructions can be found here.

Also, visas may be required for travel to some countries.

Flight Arrangements

It is the responsibility of the participant to arrange his/her own flights. Programming will begin late afternoon or evening on the first date. There are no scheduled events on the last day. Flights should not be booked until specific seminar details have been provided by BCA.

Please note: Participants depart from the United States on the first date listed and depart from the seminar date on the last date.

Pre-Departure Information

International Seminar participants receive pre-departure orientation materials, including recommended readings, information on the host institution, a program itinerary and cultural information on the seminar destination.

Spouse and or Family Attendance

BCA does not allow non-participating spouses and/or family members on the International Seminars. The content of the seminar is directed towards faculty and administrators and is intended to promote networking opportunities with U.S. colleges and universities as well as the host universities. Nevertheless, spouses who fully participate and pay the full seminar fee are encouraged to apply. We suggest that those who want free time for tourism or time to travel with their families plan a post-seminar stay.
